In Singapore for the work pass exemption there are two main criteria available:

  • Admission in the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore approved institution
  • Must not be an exchange student in Singapore for study modules

You will have to work for at least sixteen hours in a week if you want to work during terms. The work must contribute to the course you are pursuing and the company that you are working for must be under your educational institution as well. Most of the universities in Singapore have dedicated online job portals for the students or offer on-campus work opportunities.

Work Permits after Studying

Students need to get a visa for those who looking to work after studying in Singapore as well. This in Singapore is commonly recognized as a work visa which is generally known as post study visa worldwide. The skilled, semi-skilled workers and the professionals are the two categories of work after studying in Singapore.


Skilled and semi-skilled workers:

You need to get an S Pass for medium level jobs, like that of a technician, which is open to all nationalities. $2,200 should be your minimum monthly income for this. For occupations like marine, manufacturing, construction, etc of some designated countries, a special work permit for foreign workers is approved.


Professional workers:

If you plan to start your own business and do not want to work for any company, you will need to have an EntrePass. You can apply for Employment Pass if you have the minimum salary of $3,600 and have work in an executive position. An advanced version of Employment Pass is a Personalized Employment Pass, and you can only apply for it after you have worked under the Employment Pass.
